DARFUR RE-OPENS WOMEN’S CENTRES

Women’s centres for internally displaced persons in Darfur have re-opened. The centres, which were closed last year, are situated at a camp for displaced people near the state capital, El Fasher in the Darfur region of north western Sudan. They will be run by local non-governmental organisations. Women will be offered literacy classes, awareness programmes on reproductive health, as well as workshops to develop job skills.
