Zimbabwe has agreed a 950 million US dollar loan with China, the largest so far secured by the new government. After a three-week tour to seek loans to revive the battered economy, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai also said the European Union committed to an 150-million-dollar loan, its first formal engagement in seven years. Tsvangirai is seeking 8.3 billion dollars in total, but some donors are concerned the deal underpinning the unity government with former arch rival President Robert Mugabe is yet to be fully implemented.
